Issue Position: Legislative Reform

Date: Jan. 1, 2012
Issues: Elections

How many times have you picked up the newspaper and groaned in disgust at a Massachusetts politician abusing his or her influence as an elected official? We still have a system on Beacon Hill that breeds entitlements and corruption -- and our legislature has done little to address this matter. We must elect officials who are not concerned with what is best for their re-election, but who cares about passing legislation that is best for the people -- and I plan to do just that.

As your Representative, I will work hard to ensure that Leominster leads the charge towards ethics and reform in Massachusetts politics. In an effort to increase transparency, I will encourage more roll-call votes, more floor debates, and making decisions on bills that have been sent off to "study" indefinitely. I recognize that when I am elected I will have an uphill battle to fight, but each citizen of Leominster will know that their vote will be to end the business-as-usual culture and bring forth a fresh outlook that is worthy of our great city.
